Zoos in Singapore to Experience Wildlife Like Never Before

Regarded as one of the best zoos in the world, the Singapore Zoo is spread across a vast area of 70 acres. It is a remarkable place offering natural habitat to over 3600 mammal, birds and reptiles. It is famed for housing the largest captive colony of Orangutans in the world. Another major highlight of this lush landscaped attraction is the Rainforest Kidzworld, a technicolour play area for the little ones.

World's first nocturnal zoo, Singapore Night Safari is located next to the equally popular Singapore Zoo. Housing more than 130 species of animals, it uses the open-concept enclosures or trams to take the visitors on a 45-minute commented tour of its nocturnal animals and habitats.

Part of the vibrant Resorts Sentosa World on Sentosa Island, the South East Asia Aquarium is one of the largest aquariums of the world, with a total of 45 million litres of water that houses more than 800 species of marine animals. Until 2014, it was the largest aquarium in the world, possessing the world's largest viewing panel which gave visitors the impression of walking on the ocean floor. This is also the only aquarium in the world to house the giant oceanic manta ray.

The River Safari in Singapore is Asia's first river-themed zoo and aquarium, part of the Wildlife Reserves Singapore. Built over 12 hectares between the Singapore Zoo and the Night Safari Singapore, the park explores the ecosystems and biodiversity found across various rivers of the world such as the Amazon, Nile, Congo, Ganges, Mississippi, and so on. Visitors are treated to the rainforest setting of this fantastic park as they are taken through a tour of the lives of the river-dwelling animals.

Established as an outdoor conservatory, the Butterfly Park and Insect Kingdom is located at Imbiah on the Sentosa Island of Singapore and is home to more than fifty varieties of butterflies, beetles, macaws and a plethora of colourful insects. The park is not only about these fluttering butterflies but also jungle parrots, snakes and lizards with iguanas at the aviary being the star attraction.
