Elephant Jungle Sanctuary

This happens to be the cheapest package available for the Elephant Safari. If you opt for this package, you will be made to visit the jungle followed by your return back either post-lunchtime or during early evening hours. It takes usually around 7 hours to have all the fun and frolic with the elephants, gnaw at the lunch right in the middle of the jungle, and return back to the starting point of the safari along with your tour guide.

Timings 
Morning Session: 6:30 AM to 12:30 PM
Afternoon Session: 1:30 PM to 6:30 PM.

Inclusions
As part of this package, you will be served two traditional Thai buffet meals, drinking water, food for feeding to the elephants and pickup and drop-off to and from selected places in Chiang Mai. The package has been designed in a manner so as to make your trip to the Elephant Jungle Sanctuary a memorable one.

As part of the Full Day Safari tour, you will be spending time doing different activities with the elephants close to your respective camps. This includes playing with them in the mud spa and later on bathing with them in the river waters.

The ‘One Day Walk with the Elephants’ Safari tour offers you even more enjoyment over the half day or full day package. This is because the one day walk starts with an adventurous trek with the elephants, passing through the dense jungles, admiring the natural habitat flourishing on the way. By the time you finish your jungle trek, you get the company of people from the afternoon session of the Half Day Safari tour for the rest of your stay at the sanctuary. If you have a soft corner for elephants in your hearts, you can learn as much you want about the lifestyle of these animals from the tour guides.

Since the place is full of elephants, you will get to spend one additional hour with the elephants by travelling to two more camps within the jungle. This, in turn, will add to even more fun and memories!

The Overnight Stay at the Elephant Jungle Sanctuary is the best of all packages. Just like the other tour packages, the overnight stay tour also begins with a brief session from the tour guide about the general Dos and Don’ts during the tour, how to interact with elephants and other things to keep in mind. Post the knowledge sharing session, you will get to spend time with the elephants, feeding them with the food provided and clicking pictures with them for your social media posts. After the lunch buffet served to you at the campsite, you will get to play with the elephants again in the mud spa followed by a bathing session in the river. Then you can stretch your legs and relax in the cosy accommodation arranged at the Karen Village for the night, enjoying the mouth-watering Thai dinner.

The second day at the Elephant Jungle Sanctuary begins with a visit to the Waterfall Grove Sanctuary and a breakfast, served hot and delicious. After your breakfast, you will be joining the morning safari tourists for the jungle trek followed by a lunch session in the afternoon. Post lunch, get ready for a visit to the Hilltop Paradise Sanctuary, which happens to be another place for playing with the elephants prior to hitting the streets of Karen Village. On your visit to the village, you can easily feel the warm and candid hospitality from the villagers, who will further take you to their organic farms for a visit.

The Elephant Jungle Sanctuary is situated on the Tha Phae Road and is at a distance of around 1.5 hours from the Chiang Mai city. To reach here, you can either rent a car or book a taxi.

In case you are travelling to the Elephant Jungle Sanctuary as part of some travel package itinerary, you can ask your tour coordinator to arrange for pickup and drop-off facility to and from your hotel/stay at Chiang Mai. This way, you can reach the Sanctuary along with many others willing to experience the moments of joy with the majestic elephants!
