What A Good Day Looks Like

Follow This:

At the end of the day (any day) when your laying in bed and thinking about, "How It Went Today" there is one thing that you should keep in mind:

  • There is no way for you to know if you had a good day or a bad day.

Stick with me:  Life is more like a soap opera then a really good movie.

The Point:

  • A really good movie will have a beginning, a middle, and an end.  Magically, the whole movie takes place in a span of 2-3 hours.
  • The plot of a soap opera can drag on for weeks or sometimes for months.

The consequences of an event that occurs in your life can drag on for weeks, months, and even years before you will be able to clearly see the positive or negative impact that event had on your life.

Example One:

  • Your boyfriend/girlfriend breaks up with you.  You immediately think that this is a bad thing that has happened.  Six months later you meet the most wonderful person in the world.  You end up spending the rest of your life with this person.  So, it turns out that your  (ex)boyfriend/girlfriend did you a life changing favor by breaking up with you.  It took six months for you to realize that the break up was a positive thing.

Example Two:

  • Your car breaks down on the way to work which causes you to be late yet again.  You finally show up and the boss fires you.  This you think to yourself is not a good thing.  After a few months of unemployment you find a better job that you enjoy more than the one you lost.  It turns out the "crappy" car you drive had a larger purpose then just embarrassing you.  A seemingly negative event has turned out to be a positive occurrence.

I know these examples are simplistic.

But haven't you ever looked back over your life and had a gee whiz moment when you were able to say to yourself, "You know, if this didn't happen then this would never would have happened.  Who would have known that one event would lead to another?"

If you give life half a chance and a little bit of time, you will be surprised how it is able to change bad into good.

Life is meant to be lived...Not understood.

Oh boy, have I! I think about it sometimes when I can't sleep. It's amazing how many bad things cause awesome things.
