Is $135,000 Enough To Buy A New Car?
I still had the rental car so when we woke up this morning I was able to drive Amanda to the airport. I gave her a kiss and told her that I would miss her.
"I'm only going to San Diego", she said. "I'll be back in the morning. I'm pretty sure you'll be ok." She laughed as she said all of this.
But I really would miss her. I kissed her again and we set off to the airport.
Amanda had only brought one small carry on bag with her to take on the trip. "Give me a call when your back in Vegas and I'll come get you."
"Ok Paul...I have a feeling you won't be driving this rental by then." And with that she disappeared inside the terminal.
Amanda was right. I was going to get a new car. So I drove to the "Auto Mall" and just to make sure I didn't procrastinate, I called the rental car company and had them pick up the rental car. Now if I wanted to drive home I would have to make a decision and buy a car.
I'm sure most people would like to have this problem: Gee, I need a new car and price is no object. It is really hard deciding what I should buy.
I don't know if it's just me or that all rich people think this way, but I have to admit that I can be pretty much an idiot at times. If buying a car was the most pressure I would feel today then I'm doing good and shouldn't be complaining about anything.
I always want a Corvette or a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 with numbers matching LS6, 450HP M22 Rock Crusher 4 speed, 3:31 Rear end gear ratio, F41 HD suspension, Factory Cowl Induction, Strato Buckets. It would have 15" Corvette chrome rims (with orig SS wheels) with new F70/14 Poly tires.
But now that doesn't seem to be the right car for me. I walked into the Lexus dealership and there it was:
It was a great looking car! And....it was a hybrid, though the gas mileage really wasn't that great. But boy I'm telling you it was really hot looking. It was a cranberry color and just seemed to scream "money and class". As it turned out it was really screaming money and lots of it. With tax, license, extras, and who knows what else the car cost more than $135,000.
I made the financial arrangements and next thing you know I'm cruising down the strip in my new ride.
IT'S GREAT...AND I MEAN REALLY REALLY GREAT BEING RICH!!
