Amanda 101

I am living proof that money does not make a person smart and lots of money might actually inhibit brain cell production.

Why am I saying all these "nice" things about myself?

Because when Amanda and I returned home she invited me up to see her new condo.  She moved into her new place just about the same time I had moved into mine.

The difference: I was fretting about getting temporary furniture and a interior decorator while her place looked like it came out of one of those "Home and Garden" magazines.

"Did you decorate this yourself", I asked?

"Yes"!  I can tell that she was proud of herself.

"And you did this whole condo in just one week?"

"Yes"!  Now I'm thinking she was really proud of herself.

I just point blank said to her, "Not only did I find a new friend but I think, if you'll agree to help me out, I also found an interior decorator."

If your on a fishing expedition might as well try to hook the big one!

Amanda smiled at me. She makes me melt with that smile of hers. "I'd love to help you decorate.  It'll give us a chance to roam Las Vegas and discover new places.  A great Las Vegas adventure!"

So it was settled.  Amanda will help me decorate, I will be able to stop looking like an idiot living in a 7,000 sq ft penthouse with no furniture, and I get to spend more time with an "Angel".  Life is good.

"Made In Heaven is coming on TV in about 15 minutes, it's my favorite movie of all time, would you like to stay and watch it with me?"

Hmmmm, "Ok" I said without getting on my knees and thanking her for asking me to stay.  "I haven't heard of that movie, but if you say it's good then I'm sure that it is."

"Oh believe me it's a great movie.  You'll enjoy it.  I've seen it about 20 times now.  I'm going to make some popcorn and put together some chip and dip.  Come in the kitchen and help me."

Amanda was speaking to me in a way that someone would if they had known the other person for years and not just a few hours.  I really like that she feels comfortable enough with me to do that.  We seem to be clicking and maybe clacking if I play my cards right.

The movie was going to start pretty soon, so in the kitchen we went.  As we moved from the fridge to the microwave and all points in between we became just a blur of activity.  That was until I bumped into Amanda face to face.

Now I don't know if it was the fact that we were getting along so well or maybe it was the alcohol but I took a chance, I mean a really big chance.

I softly put my hand behind her head and pulled it toward me.  She then did the unexpected.  She kissed me.  I thought for sure that was going to be my "move",  but she insisted.  And it was a great kiss.  Soft and long.  When it was over I gazed into her eyes and she into mine.
