I Got Lucky In Las Vegas And I Wasn't Gambling

I arrived at Town Square and walked straight over to Tommy Bahama's Tropical Cafe.  I found an empty seat at the bar, sat down, ordered a Banana Daiquiri, took a deep breath and drank the drink.  I then ordered a second one. It was delicious.  If I ever wanted to become an alcoholic the Banana Daiquiri would be my poison of choice.

The room was filled with the same aroma you would sense if you were relaxing on the beach during a breeze filled day in the Bahama's.  There was island music playing in the background and all seemed right with the world.  After a drink or two why would anyone want to leave?

Suddenly, out of nowhere, what I can best describe as the most beautiful woman I have ever laid eyes on sat down next to me.

Almost as an afterthought, she turned to me and asked, "Is this seat taken?"

I had to convince myself that it was ok to talk to her.

"Nobody was sitting there when I came in."  The words stumbled out of my mouth.

I thought that I better say something a little friendlier or that seat will be empty once again. I gathered up all my courage and started talking to her.

"Hi, my name is Paul, if your here by yourself I'd like to buy you a drink.  How about a Banana Daiquiri.  I personally can guarantee that you'll like it.

She understood and smiled at my attempt at humor.

"It turns out I am here by myself and would really enjoy a daiquiri, thank you."  With that said she brushed her hair away from her eyes, turned her chair slightly towards me and asked, "So, what brings you here today?"

"I just moved to town and I decided that this was a good day to wander around, do some errands, and just plain relax.  How about you?"

She then said the most amazing thing, "What a coincidence!  I also just moved to Las Vegas.  I bought a condo on Las Vegas Blvd South.  I'm just now getting settled in.  Had to buy furniture and everything.  I'm taking a break and thought that this would be a nice place to have a drink and maybe get something to eat."

It turns out she moved into the same building that I had just moved in to.  "You are not going to believe this."  I couldn't believe it!  I continued, "I just moved into the same building as you, the 64th floor.  What are the odds?"

"Your kidding?"  She seemed as amazed as I was.  "I'm on the 28th floor.  You were right, the daiquiri was as good as you promised...and now I really want another one.  I  just can't believe it.  What are the odds of this happening?  I walk into a cafe, sit down next to one of my new neighbors who also just moved here, and if that wasn't enough, I get to enjoy this really great Banana Daiquiri."  She cocked her head a bit and laughed.  I laughed with her.

Her name was Amanda and I immediately liked her a lot.  Not only was she gorgeous but she had a great sense of humor and a magnetic personality.  We talked, ate, drank, and wasted time for the next four hours.  It was the best time I've had since winning the lottery.

I had promised myself not to go around telling every single person that I met that I had won $350 million dollars.  I'm not sure how or what I will tell Amanda, but for now I'm just happy to have made a new friend.  My first in Las Vegas.

Both of us rode the "strip" bus up to Town Square so we will ride the bus back home together.
